6. Plug the displacement unit into the pinholes at the joint of the two racks. One

measuring roll is laid into the tooth gap at the joint and the other two in a tooth gap

left and right of the joint. Position the measuring bridge on the rolls so that the feeler

of the dial gauge can feel the medium roll. Now seek the zero point by displacing

sideways.

7. Using a hexagon socket wrench adjust the set-screw of the displacing unit in such a

way that the rack, which is not yet firmly screwed, can be moved to the left or the right

until the dial gauge reaches the zero position again.
